Hi ,
This is science fiction and fantasy author, Greg Sorber. Welcome to the Gregeration X Newsletter for April 16th, 2021. If you’re receiving this message, it means you signed up for my mailing list on my website, you downloaded Duel of Destiny (A Mechhaven Novella) from a Story Origin group promotion, or you know me…and were forced to sign up.
No matter how you found your way onto my list, welcome to Gregeration X!
If you’ve already read Duel of Destiny, I hope you enjoyed it. It’s just a small taste of what’s to come in the Mechhaven series.
Mechhaven Missives
- Pax Machina (Mechhaven Book 1) is available for pre-order on Amazon now and will be released on May 25th, 2021.
- I’m currently making final edits/polishes to Pax Machina. I’m looking forward to wrapping this one up. As much as I enjoy the story, I’ve been living with it for about 15-16 months and I’m looking forward to letting everyone else read it. Once I'm done with Pax Machina, I'll move on to editing Mechs and Machinations (Mechhaven Book 2) and Unexpected Contact (A Mechhaven Novella).
- Speaking of Mechs and Machinations, the cover is just about ready. I saw a final proof of it last week and should be receiving the files for it soon. I can’t wait to share it with you. The cover artist for the main series books is Jeff Brown and he is a fantastic artist. The cover artist for the novellas is Jake of J Caleb Design, who is also great!
- In other projects, I wrote a scene from Mechhaven Book 3 the other night. I have a title now also, but I’ll be announcing that at a later time. In the pre-writing stages of books, I like to write some scene from different parts of the story to capture the feel I want to convey throughout. Once I’m happy with those scenes, I'll sit down and create a more detailed outline that makes writing the first draft go smoothly.
- Ideas for a third novella have started percolating pretty regularly in my mind, so it won't be long before I start working on that as well.
- The pipeline for Mechhaven content is in full swing!
Promotions
- Part of publishing these days, whether it be traditional or self-publishing, is building a list of contacts that you can send news about your books, especially when you have new releases. This is important because you cannot rely on your message getting out through social media, advertising, or any other method. E-mail is still fairly reliable, and if you're interested in the author's books you are hopefully inclined to open and read the message.
- In that spirit, I've joined several group promotions in which many authors have banded together and agree to send messages to their newsletters/social media contact containing links to free stories. In exchange for a free story, you have to give your email address and receive newsletters like these. Don't worry, I have no intention of spamming you and will only send twice per month (unless something truly awesome comes up). And, you can unsubscribe at anytime.
- Below you'll find the two group promotions I'm currently part. If you are so inclined, please click on the promotions below and check out the free short stories, novellas, and novels that are being offered. If you like something, please sign up, download and read. It will be greatly appreciated by all the authors involved.
Thanks for taking a look at the authors in the group promotions.
