In my 24 years of existence,

Today is the first day

I did not order a cake

From me to me.

If God can turn around my situation

Anyway, today is Valentine.

A day that many of us

Don’t even know why we celebrate.

But we celebrate anyway.

Because of the “awwws” and the “God whens”

Of this world.

We just want to belong.

You don’t care if it is a positive thing

Or have adverse effects

Or a pagan ritual,

Everyone is talking about it

Everyone is doing it.

Why not me?

I am not judging,

Cause in fact, why not you?

But here is the thing.

People are most likely to jump of things

That defy common sense.

Don’t fool yourself thinking

Human beings are very logical.

You go to the market,

To purchase food items

And suddenly,

Everyone starts running,

Towards a direction in panic.

You might want to find out why they are running,

But 90% of the time,

You will do so while running yourself.

Now, was that a logical decision?

We make logical decisions of course,

But many more are made emotionally

Than we care to admit.

And that is to your advantage.

Many more people will work with you,

Patronize you, Give you money,

Help you, because they are emotional.

And today, they will do so,

Because everyone else is doing it.

If you dare to make people think,

Everyone else is doing something

With you, that they ain’t yet,

You will get their attention

Most of the time.

So as you enjoy Valentine,

Try to find out why exactly you are

Celebrating Valentine.

Or not celebrating Valentine.

You will be a part of the minority

Who are still doing due diligence.

As for me,

I will be tensioning you in

Here!

And sipping wine.

While you do the awwws for me.

I promise you,

I am not a bad person.
