What happened to you?

Yesterday, I had a live session

With Salem King (one of my favorite creators);

And one of the questions he asked me was,

Grace, what happened to you?

No one knows this about me,

But I could be afraid sometimes.

I know I won’t be small,

And I feel the pressure all around me.

Sometimes,

I feel like I cant bear to make a mistake.

If you are religious,

You have probably heard the story of Mary and Joseph.

Two individuals who were used by God

To birth and nurture Jesus who was born.

You know,

Joseph could have been consumed with passion

Maybe even anger when he found out

His wife to be was pregnant,

And it wasn’t his.

Any decision he made that day,

Would change the course of his life.

In fact, all their lives.

When last did you recall your dreams?

How much value do you place on them?

Let me not lie to you,

I discard quite a number of my dreams

Especially the ones that do not make sense at first.

And the decision Joseph made in this story,

Was subject to a dream?

Very risky I must say.

Your actions and inaction have untold consequences.

You can cause the transformation

Or death of someone or something

By how you act.

Ever been in a place,

Where you get privy to the effect of your actions

And you see that some things were beyond you?

As a player in the football field,

You are so close to the goal post,

And you see the score board.

With just 30 seconds left.

It had been a tie,

And this last play could be the gamechanger

Your team would win the Champions league,

If you scored the goal.

30 seconds, and at that moment,

You hold the world in your legs.

That is what happened to me.

That is exactly what I told Salem.

My life began when I knew it wasn’t really mine.

It was for others.

So they can fulfill theirs.

You really do not have to be ambitious

To know this.

Here is what you have to be;

Truthful.

You know you are not like everyone else.

You might still be treated like a non-entity,

But you desperately want to believe you are different.

And I have been sent to tell you that you are.

You cannot perceive things

Exactly the same way that I would.

This is because we are uniquely exposed

And uniquely gifted.

You think I am better than you

Because I seem to know how to articulate

Myself better.

That is false.

I have just paid more attention to myself

More than anyone else.

So much more than even the people I admire.

This is what happened to me.

And these love notes

Are to ensure that the same will happen to you.

You will suddenly become more confident.

You will learn how to express yourself better.

You will not to be afraid to make mistakes.

You will accept the difference you know you are to make.

You will be free to think your own thoughts.

You will embrace your imperfections.
