I met a crazy marketer in Lagos

May 08, 2021 1:00 pm

Today is just going to be a story,

about a marketer I met in a bus on the streets of Lagos.

He started off with telling us about the benefits

of his drugs, of which enhancing sexual performance

was top on the list.

If you ever have been in a “danfo” bus in Lagos,

this would be far from strange for you.

So after all his long talk,

he had successfully roped the people in.

They seemed to like the product.

Then he priced it at #1500 each.

Oh wow.

The people in the danfo bus just knew

that they were not in the league of his audience.

They started getting disinterested,

Carried away by other things wanting their attention.

My dear marketer noticed this,

and then he started a giveaway.

He asked out loud, for anyone for wanting this,

but couldn’t afford it.

Many hands came up.

A fight almost ensued because the products were limited.

So he gave out all of his products,

marking the faces of the people who he gave them to.

Then he asked,

If you have #200 right now and you have my product in your hands,

Please give me.

And then, the #200 that they were hoarding

miraculously started pouring in.

They had benchmarked the #1500 with the current #200,

reminiscing on the benefits of the product,

and thought it was a good bargain,

So they let their money go.

He knew this.

I daresay, he even planned it.

Just a gentle reminder,

that Sales is always 100% psychology.

And that is on period.

Till I write to you again,

Grace Christos

A raw pitch and a calculated sales strategy. I just learnt something from this story. I can sell a product as long as I make a great bargain
