Johnny Depp, alpacas, and filmmaking

Because the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial isn't already enough of a $@!#-show, we had to throw some alpacas into the mix.

Because the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial isn't already enough of a $@!#-show, we had to throw some alpacas into the mix.

In case you've been living under a rock and/or don't follow the latest Hollywood gossip, Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million in damages after denying assertations that he had committed acts of domestic abuse against her, stemming from a Washington Post op-ed that Heard wrote in 2018. In fact, Depp has accused her of being the abuser in the relationship.

Heard is countersuing for $100 million, claiming that she only ever put her hands on Depp to protect herself or her sister from him during alcohol and drug-fueled escapades.

The trial, if you have not been following it in the news or on TikTok, is as entertaining as any of the charismatic characters that Depp has brought to life on the big screen.

And just when you think the whole situation can't get any funnier or weirder, the daily court update from a headline in Hollywood Life that caught my eye yesterday involved nothing less than a pair of friendly and cuddly alpacas.

Yep, alpacas.

Apparently an extremely enthusiastic Depp supporter brought her pet alpacas along to the area just outside of the Virginia courthouse, because she thought it would help to brighten up his day.

May this email serve as a reminder of all the weirdness that awaits you when you become famous in the entertainment industry.

May it also serve as a reminder that although I've been silent for quite a while now, I am indeed, still alive.

I've been spending a lot of time working on myself, creating some awesome content and cool stuff to help you along your filmmaking journey, and making a baby (McKinley Brooke Bowers is almost fully baked and ready to come out anytime in the next two weeks!).

So I have lots to share with you in the days and weeks ahead.

If you've moved on, broken up with me and forgotten to tell me, or are simply disturbed by my mere existence, now is the time to unsubscribe by clicking the link at the very bottom of this email.

Otherwise, hang on, because we're all in for a wild ride.
