The #1 Excuse For Why People Are Out-Of-Shape

Hello Friend!

Long time no see, I hope you've been well!

Quick story today.

2 weeks ago I attended the wedding of an old high school friend of mine.

During the long weekend, I stayed with a big group of my old high school friends in this crazy big house.

There was 14 of us staying there and it was a great time.

However...

During the weekend there was something that I couldn't help but notice.

Of the 14 of us at the Airbnb....only 4 of us were in shape!

4 out of 14!

Wild.

It got me thinking about all of us back in high school and college.

In high school, I would say 2-3 of the 14 of us were out of shape.

In college, that number rose to about 5-6.

But now, a decade later, we're at 10! (Out of shape)

When I went around and asked people if they had been going to the gym or dieting or anything of that sort I kept hearing the same excuse.

And it's the same excuse I've heard for YEARS when it comes to people getting in shape.

Do you know what that excuse is?

  • It's not that it's too hard...
  • It's not that they don't know what to do...
  • It's not that it's too expensive...

The #1 excuse for people being out of shape is....

"I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME!"

Shocking, right?

But here's the thing...

That excuse is total B.S.

It's not that you don't have enough time...

It's that you prioritize other things over getting in shape.

(Or starting a side-hustle. Or learning a new skill. Or doing anything that you know you should be doing.)

The thing is, people have these funny assumptions when it comes to the gym that they don't need to have.

For example...

"How long it takes to get fit." (on a daily/weekly basis).

Most people think that they need to live in the gym.

They need to turn into a gym rat, and do nothing but eat, sleep, and workout in order to get in shape.

When in reality, the time commitment is nothing like that.

Sure, if you're a professional athlete or training for a bodybuilding competition then the gym is your second home.

But for the rest of us?

The people that just want to get in shape and live a happy, healthy lifestyle?

All you need to put in is around 4-5 hours a week to get in shape.

That's it!

A ridiculously low number.

Simply go exercise for 1 hour a day 4-5 days a week.

(Then continue doing that for a few months/years.)

That's literally all you need to do and you will be more active than 80% of American adults.

(Bar's kinda low there, I admit.)

But still, this whole, "I don't have time" B.S., I'm tired of hearing it.

ANYONE CAN SPARE 4-5 HOURS A WEEK TO GET IN SHAPE!

What it ultimately comes down to how seriously you take your health.

If you want something bad enough, you will make the time for it.

If you don't, then you won't.

No excuses necessary.

Until next time.

Your friend,

GoldSteve
