Facebook is Deleting Live Videos—Here’s How to Save Yours!
Feb 19, 2025 6:33 pm
Hey ,
I had to pop into your inbox today because Facebook just threw us a major curveball, AGAIN!!!
Yesterday they announced that starting today, new FB Live videos will be deleted after 30 days—yep, even the ones you’ve been using to build your brand and connect with your audience. And soon they will begin to delete existing FB Live videos. Here's the full announcement https://about.fb.com/news/2025/02/updating-our-facebook-live-video-storage-policy/
If you're like me, you probably woke up to this news thinking, Wait, what?! 😳
But don’t worry—I’ve got you covered.
This isn't just another to stop relying on rented space (aka social media) and start taking control of our content. This is a full-on swift kick in the tail.
The best move right now? Get your videos off Facebook and onto a platform like YouTube, where they can keep working for you long-term.
Here’s what you need to do ASAP:
- Download your most valuable live videos before they vanish, even if you aren't sold on going to YT yet at least get your content safe.
- Prioritize evergreen content to download first—the stuff that keeps helping your audience over time and will perform well on any other platform with a search based algorithm
- Start with your oldest videos because they’re at the highest risk of deletion.
I'm already in the process of providing you more support to get this move done—I just fast-tracked a brand-new YouTube Description flow inside SEO Assist, alongside our existing Repurpose assistant.
Together, these tools make it super simple to move your content to YouTube and keep your videos searchable and working for you 24/7.
I’m also dropping more strategies, tool recommendations, and tutorials on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@akilah_girlgetvisible to help you make this transition smooth and stress-free. Make sure to follow along so you don’t miss anything!
At the end of the day, this is a reminder that owning your content is key. Facebook might change the rules, but we’re always one step ahead. 😉
Let’s keep growing and getting visible,
Akilah
