Upcoming SY2023-2024 Updates

The Guam Legislature, in a rare showcase of bipartisanship, passed bills 158-37 and 159-37. Bill 158-37 keeps schools that have not been inspected to remain open. For schools that failed inspections, the GDOE Superintendent and Director of Public Health and Social Services may continue to operate the schools at their discretion. Bill 159-37 delays the full compliance start date of Public Health's mandate to the beginning of SY2024-2025. The bill also requires GDOE to give monthly updates in writing and through oversight hearings.
