Are You Believing In Yourself Strongly?

Are You Believing In Yourself Strongly?

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF STRONGLY

Ms. Moe wasn't going to stop me!

,

You have a dream that other people do not understand.

They may question your choices, criticize your effort, or tell you that you are wasting your time. That does not mean your dream is wrong.

It may simply mean that they cannot yet see what you see.

This is why your belief in yourself must become stronger than the opinions of people who cannot see your vision.

CRITICIZE FOR DRIBBLING OVER DRUG DEALING

When I was growing up in my hood, there was an elderly woman named Miss Moe. She was very nosy and always knew everyone's business. She could tell you who had visited someone's house and even give you the car's license plate number.

One day, she came up to me and said, "Junior, I just want to let you know that people are laughing at you and criticizing you because you're out here dribbling a basketball at two or three in the morning. You need to go inside and get some sleep."

I looked at her and said, "Miss Moe, it amazes me that you came to me because I'm dribbling a basketball at two or three in the morning. I'm trying to play college basketball, but you and those other people aren't saying anything to the people who are selling drugs and shooting at each other. Instead, you're criticizing me."

I remember the rage in her eyes as she looked at me. I walked away and continued practicing.

MAKE THEM A BELIEVER

As the years went by, I kept dribbling and shooting my basketball until two or three in the morning.

I kept telling myself that one day I would play college basketball and get out of the hood.

Eventually, I received a college basketball letter. Miss Moe found out because my mama told her.

During my senior year of high school, one afternoon, I was dribbling my basketball in front of my house. Miss Moe walked up to me and said, "Junior, come over here. I want to talk to you."

She handed me a $100 bill and said, "I'm so glad that you kept believing in yourself. Congratulations on going to college to play basketball. You made me a believer. I thought you were wasting your time, but you truly had a dream, and you made it happen."

KEEP BELIEVING

People may not understand your vision, your purpose, or the effort you're putting into your dream.

And that's okay!

Do not give up on your dream, instead Keep Believing in Yourself because You Are WORTHY TO BE GREAT!
