DON’T BACK DOWN
Don’t back down from the dream.
Let me tell you, it’s so easy to do.
You finally get the opportunity you’ve been dreaming of.
You’ve been working towards it.
But when it comes into your life, instead of taking advantage of it.
You regrettably, back down from the dream.
I remember when I backed down from a dream and regretted it.
I was playing college basketball.
It was my third basketball game, and I hadn’t received playing time.
I was eager to play because it had always been my dream to be a college athlete.
One game, we were getting blown out by the other team.
Coach West was yelling and trying different players on the floor.
I knew I might get a chance, and that thought scared me.
Coach kept pacing back and forth in front of the bench.
His face was red like a ketchup bottle.
He had put every player in the game except me.
As he walked back and forth, he looked me in the eye.
And I looked down at the floor in fear.
He noticed and walked past.
When the game was over.
I was mad at myself because I knew I had backed down from my dream.
And till this day, I regret it.
I don’t want you to make that mistake.
Whatever your dream is, don’t back down, or you too will regret it.
So decide today, when the opportunity presents itself, you will not back down from your dream because you are WORTHY TO BE GREAT.
