Greetings, dear newsletter subscriber,

  • Are "human values" real?
  • How many human values are there?
  • What would a big list of human values look like?
  • Is "agency" a human value? Why or why not?

Last week, we looked at how to determine if something is a genuine “human value.” This week, we go deeper and use our checklist to offer a way to evaluate any value on a scale from 1 to 5 using aspects such as human flourishing, livability, and moral guidance.

Values such as agency, compassion, and integrity aren’t simply ideas—they shape the way we live, interact, and make choices. By the end of this exercise, you’ll have more clarity as to which values deserve your attention and which may just be modern distractions.
