Greetings from North Vancouver, Canada,

I have another quick story to share. My publisher put out a call for fun beach reads. The only common denominator was ice cream. After some brainstorming, I came up with an image of two guys sharing ice cream by the sea wall in Vancouver. What kind of ice cream, you might ask. Well, tiger tail of course! Orange cream with ribbons of black licorice. My favorite growing up, and also the favorite of my hero Thomas.

From there, I moved to what Thomas did for a living. One of the biggest industries in Vancouver is film, so I made him a production assistant. His hero? Peter, one of the biggest action film stars in the business. And they are both in the closet until their moment of sharing tiger tail ice cream is revealed to the world. I call the book my fake-boyfriend, age-gap, rom-com. I had fun writing it and now it's available on audio!

It's also whispersynched so I put Catch a Tiger by the Tail on sale for 99 cents for a limited time:

The fantastic Michael Dean narrated Catch a Tiger by the Tail for me and I have to say his narration style works well with the heroes.

Breaking all the rules can be so delicious...

Again I had the opportunity to update the cover. I put Peter the movie star on the cover, and I have to say I had fun picking the model. Michael Dean will be narrating the follow-up story and it will be available soon.

Now the promised freebies!

Prologues - love them or hate them?

My publisher allowed me one for my first book, but they said I needed to cut the one for Catch a Tiger by the Tail.

I did, but I'm sharing it here with you:

Thomas

While I was growing up, my favorite trips into town involved a visit to Pop’s Ice Cream Shoppe. Thirty-one flavors had nothing on him. Dozens upon dozens of tubs of ice cream lined his double-wide freezers. Every flavor imaginable was there, just waiting to be chosen. My brother loved Rocky road, my sister feasted on French vanilla, my mother indulged in mint chocolate chip, and my father went for the classic double chocolate fudge.

And me?

Tiger tail. Yep. Orange ice cream with ribbons of black licorice. One of the most neglected flavors, and the one I swore Pop kept in stock just for me. There were other flavors that didn’t receive much attention—Pistachio, Cotton Candy, and Maple Nut. For me, though, the combination of orange cream and black licorice was irresistible. I was also the only member of the family who enjoyed Goodies. Any packages of those at Halloween, as well as any black licorice, were always tossed into my pillowcase. There weren’t even negotiations involved. Just toss them at Thomas and he’ll enjoy them. I stopped trick-or-treating well before Sarah, my younger sister, but I enjoyed the licorice into young adulthood. I’m Canadian, so Thanksgiving was in mid-October. The beginning of what I thought as the lovely season—Thanksgiving, Halloween, and then Christmas.

Until the year everything changed.

Okay, that's all for this month!
