Hi

You Know What Nobody Talks About?

image

I just got the news last week - Top Producing Realtor for RE/MAX West Scarborough-Brooklin for December 2025.

And you know what my first thought was?

Not "I earned this." Not "I worked hard for this."

It was: "What if next month isn't as good?"

Wild, right? Here I am, doing exactly what I love - helping families find their perfect homes - and instead of pure celebration, my brain throws a little anxiety party.

I thought I was the only one until I read about a retired gentleman who started a small non-profit to do volunteer work he was passionate about.

After years of quiet, meaningful impact, his organization experienced sudden overnight success.

His reaction? He didn't celebrate. He panicked.

He actually went to therapy specifically to work through his "fear of success." Not because something went wrong - but because everything went right.

The anxiety wasn't about the achievement itself. It was about whether he could sustain it. Whether he deserved it. Whether the other shoe would drop.

Maybe you've felt something similar?

Not about real estate awards (unless you're secretly a realtor and didn't tell me). 😁

But about those moments when life actually goes RIGHT:

  • Finally finding a home that checks all the boxes after months of searching

  • Getting that job offer you thought was out of reach

  • Your teenager actually saying "thank you" without being prompted

  • Making it through a stressful situation and coming out stronger

That little voice that whispers "but what if this doesn't last?" right when you should be celebrating.

Here's what I remind myself - and what I tell clients when they're afraid to get excited about a home they love:

Good things aren't borrowed from the universe. They're not loans that need to be repaid with suffering later.

They're simply the result of showing up, making thoughtful choices, and yes, sometimes catching a bit of luck along the way.

And when you found the right home?

That wasn't too good to be true.

That was persistence and patience paying off.

So I'm learning to accept my own advice.

I'd love to know - do you ever feel this way too? What's your "too good to be true" moment that you're learning to just... accept as real?

Hit reply and let me know. I read every single response, and your story might be exactly what someone else needs to hear today.

Here's to trusting the good stuff,

Fred

P.S. - If you or anyone you know is thinking about making a move in 2026, I'd love to help them feel the same confidence you felt. Just let me know.

Have a great week ahead!
