Our recent trip to the Pilliga - Pilliga Ultra update

Hi there
I hope you are well.
Currently, on my way home from the Pilliga after spending a few wonderful days with Freddie and Nick (members of the For Wild Places crew) scouting the routes and capturing footage for the new Pilliga Ultra in 22 May.
We had an absolute ball and very happy to let you know we have found two beautiful routes - a 20km and 50km (super technical and diverse - trust me I have the cuts and bruises to prove it!).
Checking out more potential routes
The best part of the trip was getting to meet some of the community members affected by the potential Coal Seam Gas proposed plants - it was the best part of the trip to be honest. Getting a deeper understanding of how we as trail runners can make a huge difference to a community and a magical forest.
We are basing the event as previously discussed at Pilliga Pottery (check it out http://www.barkalafarmstay.com.au/) - a great spot, with unique accommodation and a perfect for event HQ.
We're also aiming to hold a variety of events and workshops (much more to come on this) so it's going to be a real community event!
This Wednesday, registrations will be open - I'll send you the weblink first before it goes to the public so look out for it and be quick as we only have 100 spots in this event.
