FRIDAY . 15 . 10 . 21 .

Good morning wonderful people!

Did anyone else spend all last week changing over the summer/winter wardrobe and bed sheets, only to need to change it all back again this week? Just us on the east coast? Thanks low pressure system! And immaculately timed to coincide with the easing of restrictions (out of lockdown and into storms and hail).

In all seriousness - we hope that for those in Warrang/Sydney, this week was filled with connection to family and friends who you haven't seen in so long.

We wanted to get this newsletter into your inboxes a little earlier this week, to remind you that today is NATIONAL CLIMATE STRIKE Day! In 30+ locations across Australia, people will be taking the day off uni, work or university to tell the government they are serious about climate action. There are actions happening across the country and online - you can find your closest rally here. I know it won't be the same as taking to the streets in the thousands like we did in September 2019, but with COP26 only two weeks away, it's as vital as ever we make our voices heard.

In this weeks newsletter, we're advertising a few positions available to join the FWP team and a SPRING SUMMIT update. For those that make it all the way to the end, you'll also find out how you can win a double pass!

FWP IS RECRUITING

Would you believe For Wild Places has been operating for 18 months?!

Since first coming together as a group of passionate and wayward trail runners in March 2020, we have grown a committed community, delayed our inaugural event three times (thanks COVID!),  grown to a team of 16 dedicated volunteers and have epic plans for 2022 and beyond.

To help facilitate these plans going forward, we are expanding our team with new paid and voluntary positions.  Before we advertise these roles publicly, we want to touch base with you, our community, to see if you are keen to join our wonderful team.  Please feel free to forward this on to any friends or family you think might be interested! Extended role summaries are also available on our website.

We are looking for people to fill the following roles:

Project Lead - Part Time

Part time, Paid, +8 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced project manager to join the FWP Leadership team to help roll out projects over the coming months.  Working closely with the volunteer team, the Project Lead will work closely with the Team lead to assess, resource and roll out projects. For more information, check out the full role description here.

 Salesforce System Administrator - Volunteer

Volunteer, approx 4-6 hours per week

FWP is seeing a Salesforce System Administrator to set up Salesforce, connect it to our existing apps eco-system. After setup, we seek ongoing assistance to our growing team so we can use Salesforce efficiently and effectively. For more information, view the full role description here.

Copywriter / Content Creation - Volunteer

Volunteer, approx 4-6 hours per week

We are looking for  talented and passionate writers to join the FWP team and create content for a range of platforms, including social media,  website and feature articles.   Through these channels we raise awareness of the issues that face our wild places, and need talented writers to help express our mission, and inspire others to get involved by sharing FWP’s impact and achievements. For more information and to apply, view the full role description here.

 Non Executive Board Director

Volunteer, approx 4-6 hours per month

We are currently taking applications for people to join our Board of Directors.  As a fast growing organisation, we are looking to strengthen our Board and we are seeking up to two candidates with governance/board experience to join our board of directors. For more information and to apply, please check out the full Role Description.

 Join the FWP Jobs Board

We have a range of exciting things in the works and over the coming months we will be seeking talented people  with a range of skills to join us on a contract / freelance basis. These projects will go for roughly 3 - 6 months and be filled on a part time/casual basis, working remotely.

To be the first in the know, sign up to our FWP JOBS BOARD mailing list, and we’ll reach out when positions are available.
