FRIDAY . 08 . 10 . 21 .

Good morning wonderful people!

The team at For Wild Places are stoked to announce an upcoming virtual event...

image

You may have seen a sneak peak of this announcement on socials, and we’re now ready to show you what we’ve created.

For a little while now, we have been brainstorming ideas for a virtual event that would bring together the FWP community amidst restrictions, and provide some distraction and motivation during these unusual (and really rough) times.

Rather than host another running challenge, we’ve curated a weekend of connection, education and inspiration. We really want our community to continue being kind custodians for this wonderful world, and to do so, you need to make sure you’re looking after your own physical, mental and spiritual health. We have created Spring Summit 2021: Rest & Reset to encourage us all to take a moment for ourselves, and prepare for what we hope will be an active, outdoors summer.

Right now you’re probably wondering “when is this freaking awesome event taking place and what’s involved?”. And they’re great questions!...

EVENT DATE

Spring Summit will take place from Saturday 23rd - Sunday 24th October.

SOME OF THE GOODNESS THAT THIS WEEKEND WILL BRING…

There will be 4-5 sessions per day, ranging from meditation to creative workshops and movie night film screenings. We have a huge range of amazing guests including Beau Miles, Max Romey, Lucy Bartholomew and Emily Toner.

Pre-run meditation & pilates sessions 🧘🏽

To get started, mindfulness teacher, writer and musician, Emily Toner will guide us through a morning meditation, designed to get your head set for a wonderful day ahead.

Alice Baquie, physiotherapist, pilates Instructor and passionate runner (what a cool combo), will then jump in with a specially formulated pre-run pilates session, guaranteed to get the muscles firing.

Landscape creativity workshop 🎨

Join watercolour artist and trail runner Max Romey for a wild and wonderful painting/illustration workshop. BYO own watercolours for a masterclass on how to creatively capture landscapes with a few flicks of the brush! Here are just a few examples of the amazing landscapes that Max, aka @trailboundsketches, creates ‘on the go’...

Movie night! 🎥

We have three epic movies coming to a screen near you - Run the Line with Beau Miles, Muddiest Known Time with Milly Young and Running Out with Lucy Bartholomew. These inspiring athletes tackle some of Australia’s most remote and beautiful landscapes.

KEEP UP TO DATE
