What if you could run to keep a forest wild

Well... you can!
I know we said last week we'd email you once a week but we had to let you know about a very special event that is happening in May.
The 'For Wild Places' crew and The Wilderness Society have teamed up to create a new Ultra marathon to raise awareness and funds to protect the beautiful Pilliga Forest, North West NSW from coal seam gas mining.
We’re calling it the ‘Gasbag Ultra; a run to keep the Pilliga Wild'.
Half a million hectares of rare intact temperate eucalypt woodland are under threat.
It’s here that the company Santos plans to build its Narrabri Gas Project, which will see up to 850 coal seam gas (CSG) wells drilled into this ancient landscape.
At 95,000 hectares, Santos' project is the largest, by land area, ever proposed in NSW. It would be 38 times the size of the City of Sydney. You read that correctly - 38 TIMES THE SIZE OF SYDNEY!
Let’s stand united against the push to fast track the destruction of our precious forests and wildlife for a fossil fuel resource that threatens our global climate and the sacred country and living culture of Gamilaraay peoples.
You can do something about this - pre-register now for this bucket list, life-changing, wild run (taking place on 22 May) - only 150 places available. Sign up below:

You’ll of course hear first when registrations open and all the news related to this event.
Thanks
Simon and the For Wild Places crew
