,
I understand if sometimes you tend to compare yourself to those people na sa tingin mo ay mas lamang ka.
But today, I want to remind you of humility.
Sabi nga ni Jesus, the greatest in heaven are those who are humble.
And this man of God was considered by God as the most humble than anyone else in before and during his time.
And because I want you to be great too like him...
...special sa akin ang reminder na to for you.
Kasi ako mismo, when I read this last week, it left so much message in my heart.
Now read this with me:
12 Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.
2 “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.
3 (Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
4 At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out.
5 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam.
When the two of them stepped forward, 6 he said, “Listen to my words:
“When there is a prophet among you,
I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions,
I speak to them in dreams.
7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;
he is faithful in all my house.
8 With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?”
9 The anger of the Lord burned against them, and he left them.
10 When the cloud lifted from above the tent, Miriam’s skin was leprous—it became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease,
11 and he said to Moses, “Please, my lord, I ask you not to hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.
12 Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother’s womb with its flesh half eaten away.”
13 So Moses cried out to the Lord, “Please, God, heal her!”
14 The Lord replied to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back.”
15 So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.
16 After that, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the Desert of Paran.
Notice the consequence God gave to Aaron and Miriam.
If you remember, my last email to you is all about the disgrace of complaining.
And now it's the consequence of comparison.
Miriam, Aaron and Moses are siblings.
Iisa ang mama and papa nila.
They belong to the Levites clan na considered as chosen ni LORD to protect his sanctuary.
And yes, Moses' assistant was Aaron na taga interpret nya.
Si Miriam naman yung sister na nagbantay kay Moses nung baby pa sya bago sya kinuha ng princess para alagaan at mabuhay.
As I look deeper, there are lots of time when we compare ourselves.
- Maybe sometimes naisip mo na much better ka sa kapatid mo.
- Then you complain why mas paborito sya ng Nanay or Tatay mo.
- Or maybe you question God why mas blessed ang kapatid mo kesa sayo.
- Or maybe... you also question your workmates' abilities na mas magaling ka naman. Na mas malinis ka magtrabaho and same lang ang qualities nyo.
- Or... worse is... you think mas magaling and knowledgeable ka sa leaders mo in terms of faith.
- Maybe uutal utal ang pastors or priest nyo while giving sermons or...
- Maybe you feel like much better pa if ikaw na lang ang mag explain ng bagay na yun.
You see...
Lahat ng maybe na to... pinagdaanan ko .
Lalo na yung pinaka last.
Dahil nga I read the bible daily, and dahil nga 2nd round ko na sa pagbasa... feeling ko too knowledgeable na ako.
Then may mga panahon noon that I feel like ayaw ko na lang magsimba kasi minsan, feeling ko kulang yung explanation ng pastor namin.
Dumating din kasi sa point na naka experience rin sya ng depression and anxiety because of other leaders who mocked her.
Mga leaders na noon under sa supervision nya and yet she felt betrayed.
(Marites time) Hehe... Okay na sila ngayon.
I'm sharing this to you kasi baka may mga ganon ka rin na feeling.
Yung feeling mo you feel above than anyone else.
That's why let me remind you that God sees your heart.
Kaya nga I feel so blessed na at this season of my life... specifically this 2022, I feel like I'm at my lowest.
But you know what's beautiful?
God humbled me so much.
He humbled me so that when my breakthrough is given, my heart is so much prepared to not brag anything.
Na tanging pangalan lang ni LORD ang ma raise, not mine.
Kaya nga sis, this topic of humility is so special to me.
Gusto ko tong e highlight sayo para pagdating ng tamang panahon, God will put us all in higher pedestal because we had been humble to raise His name while we're still here on earth.
And one thing lang... when someone compliments you, acknowledge it.
Say thank you and acknowledge that God is the one who gave you that abilities, qualities and talents.
Kasi once you didn't acknowledge His work sa buhay mo...
And you keep murmuring, complaining and questioning what you've got...
Yang bagay na meron ka, mawawala yan.
Plus... disgrace pa ang aabutin mo.
Lastly, whatever happens, please respect, honor and love your leaders in church.
Yang mga pastors or priest mo... mga gabay mo yan.
Not unless if you see na against na sa laws ni LORD ang ginagawa nila.
And how will you know it?
Balik tayo sa basic - READ YOUR BIBLE.
God sees you. Make Him proud. ^_^
To your peace and joy,
FJ Lapera
