How to Fight your Enemies without Guilt

I really fear Muslims noon .

Living at the center of Mindanao, we're surrounded by them.

Although I had Muslim friends in college, I'm still distant.

I know my boundaries.

Traitor daw kasi sila based sa mga narinig kp growing up.

Yet my perception of them changed as I was reading the bible.

Galing ang lahi nila kay Hagar na naging kabit ni Abraham dahil din kay Sarah.

Well, it wasn't Hagar's fault.

Sarah wanted an offspring through her because of impatience sa promise ni LORD sa kanila ni Abraham.

And yun nga, in the end, God still blessed Hagar's generation starting with Ishmael even if the original promise remained with Sarah's son in her old age. (Isaac).

Now with this history, ang lahi ni Ishmael ay destined to fight with each other.

Same sa nakikita kong patayan ng lahi ng mga Muslim dito sa amin like during elections.

One thing I understood is even sa time ni Moses, these strict instructions were given to Isaac's generation:

Listen to this story:

Leviticus 24:10 Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite.

Leviticus 24:11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)

Leviticus 24:12 They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them.

Leviticus 24:13 Then the LORD said to Moses:

Leviticus 24:14 "Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.

Leviticus 24:15 Say to the Israelites: ’Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;

Leviticus 24:16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.

Leviticus 24:17 "’Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.

Leviticus 24:18 Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution —life for life.

Leviticus 24:19 Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:

Leviticus 24:20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury.

Leviticus 24:21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.

Leviticus 24:22 You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.’"

Leviticus 24:23 Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.

Now notice how strict God was when that half blooded Israelite blasphemed His name. And notice the consequence.

As I understand, Muslims are practicing this tooth for tooth even until today.

In Jesus time, there's too much GRACE.

Kaya mapalad tayo understanding the New Testament and having more patience, understanding and forgiveness sa mga nagkakasala sa atin.

Coz back in the old times, the punishment was really severe.

Now even if mapagpatawad tayo ngayon after Jesus dying for our sins...

Still, JUSTICE is served. God will vindicate for you now.

Yung tooth for tooth, si LORD ang gagawa for you.

You don't need to stain your hands with blood today.

And for that, you should feel blessed. And speaking of feeling blessed, Sunday ngayon.

Connect to the source sis.

Whatever religion you have, it doesn't matter.

Open your heart.

As long as you acknowledge that Jesus died for you 2000 years ago...

YOU are blessed.

LIVE that blessing.

SPREAD that grace EMBRACE His love.

To your peace and joy,

FJ Lapera
