Dear False Potato Mother, I'm Guzzling

Dear False Potato Mother,
My trailer has been fluctuating in heat quite a bit. One day it's freezing, the next it's boiling. I took a walk to the lake yesterday and realized I need to walk to the lake more often. I have a framed embroidery i made that has an Ava Hofmann quote on it, "Here I am, girl enough to guzzle what comes" and I do believe that whatever is coming will be something I will be girl enough to guzzle. <3
Speaking of coming, coming up here I've got a reading in Seattle next week on July 5th at Charlie's Queer Books. 5-7pm. It's got an open mic as well so bring something to read, I'd love to hear what you have to share! Also come check out Charlie's it's a very cute gay bookstore.
As far as upcoming publications, we are getting closer every day to the publication of SARA or 'I lived my life as a cloud that followed overhead' from Inside the Castle press on August 17th!!! I'd love to do any readings in the PNW you're booking, so if you've got something and want to invite me to come I'd be very excited to read words off of paper in front of you about it. I am very excited for all of you to read this book, which is sort of a book that ate my other book Sara or the Existence of Fire and it's still got that book inside it but it's over twice as big and things are changed and moved around. Its still a story about a girl and her dog and it still takes place in a dreamy impossible world that is full of playfulness and beauty and harm.
I have been mostly disappearing into my trailer world of funk albums and grant applications. We got my wife's car fixed, so now I'm a bit more mobile and have to share mine with fewer people, which is nice and opens me to travel more. Thank you to everyone who came to see me read in San Francisco. Y'all were so sweet! I want to come back when I can arrange travel around my work schedule again without killing my sciatica via airplane seat again.
Here's a taste of my media consumption habits lately:
Reading:
-Realm of the Elderlings Series by Robin Hobb (I'm at the end of book 9 now, and I got to meet Robin at a book signing she had at a public library recently in Orting, WA. She seems like a nice lady!)
-Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Agin) by Sly Stone and Ben Greenman
-A+E 4 Evr by I. Merey
-Read and Then Burn This by Ryszard Merey
Watching:
-Babylon 5
-Dig! (2004)
-The Pitt
-Sly Lives! (2025)
-Idlewild (2006)
Listening:
-Sly & the Family Stone - their whole discography but especially A Whole New Thing and Fresh
-Otis Redding - discography
-Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness
-No, really it's almost entirely been Sly & the Family Stone
-Brian Jonestown Massacre - Take it From the Man
-Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
-Nuggets
-The Gladiators - Trenchtown Mix-Up
-Bootsy's Rubber Band - Stretchin' Out
-Really though, mostly Sly
Love you forever,
Never Angeline North, writer of a book or two i guess
