Guzzling Tequila in a 400-year-old Jesuit Monastery

On Friday night, I was joined by about 40 Private Clients and colleagues at my friend's new hotel for some drinks to catch up.
The hotel in Panama City’s old town, it’s a 400-year-old Jesuit monastery the size of a city block that was in total ruin; he bought it and completely restored the place as a luxury hotel, it's stunningly beautiful, and you get to learn a bit about its history when you visit.
Unfortunately, my friend Chis (the owner) was not there to greet us as he was back home in Canada on a trip (where we are both from), but we were able to find one of the staff to show us around in his stead.
We took over the entire hotel bar. Maybe there was one other couple off in the corner; otherwise, the entire area was packed with my people.
I remember looking over from the far side of the bar, and everyone was taking shots of tequila that were the size of a pint glass, including the son of one of my clients, who is only 20 years old!
That’s all I need, my client's son getting smashed at one of my events…
I like to take my clients to places like this in Panama City because often people have no idea what Panama is like. Many people have been to Costa Rica at some point in their lives and seem to think it will be pretty much the same.
It really really is not the same at all.
Panama is so much more developed, and there are so many luxury hotels and restaurants in the city. It reminds me of other first-world cities, just at half the price.
Is Panama bargain basement cheap? Nope, there are way cheaper places in the world, but value for money? Panama is amazing.
We ended the night with rooftop drinks with a view of Casco Viejo. It was perfect.
I often do events for my clients, and the number one comment I get afterwards is this…
“It’s so nice to spend time with a group of like-minded people”
And they are right. There is this shorthand with all of my people. They click instantly as everyone is already on the same page.
People can be themselves and not worry about what others are thinking.
Anyways, it was just a fun night, and I thought I would tell you about it.
Our next big event planned is actually our online conference, the Expat Money Summit.
We have an amazing speaker lineup, including Doug Casey, Dr. Ron Paul, Vít Jedlička, Paul Rosenberg, Swen Lorenz, and many more.
You can sign up for the online event here:

For those who grab a VIP ticket, we will have virtual cocktail parties, trivia nights, networking events, as well as a Backstage Pass to meet and get to know the speakers.
Plus a ton of other bonuses.
It’s going to be pretty special.
I suggest grabbing a ticket now. We have a couple of different levels available:
