Flying from Canada to Panama Just Got Way Easier

Sep 08, 2025 12:07 pm

If you travel as much as I do, you know air travel can be either seamless… or a nightmare.

Thankfully, for those living in Panama (like myself) or those using Panama as a business or investment hub, there's some excellent news coming your way:

WestJet recently announced a major partnership with Copa Airlines.

Starting this December, they will launch direct flights from Calgary to Panama City. But that’s just the beginning...

This new partnership links Canada to 37 destinations across Central and South America, which also includes Colombia, Brazil and Argentina.

This is music to my ears.

If you’re a Canadian building your Plan-B in Latin America, this announcement means your travel plans have become a whole lot less complicated.

If you're exploring Panama for residency, scouting real estate in Medellin, or just want easier access to your offshore investments, this update changes everything.

And let’s be clear—this wasn’t a random decision.

WestJet is following the exact same trend I’ve been tracking for years:

Investors, entrepreneurs, and freedom-seekers are moving South, because that’s where the future is.

Just like Tim Hortons and IKEA, they are adapting to meet the surging demand in Latin America.

And now, with this new flight network in place, it’s easier than ever to get there.

Speak soon,

Mikkel
