👗 Essential Style Tip of the Month
Practical advice for everyday Style Confidence
Want to Be More Approachable? Start With Colour!
Whether it's a social gathering, a job interview, a first date, or a networking event, people make quick impressions based on your appearance in the first few seconds they see you.
Your outfit is not the whole story, but it does help set the tone before the first hello. One of the simplest ways to create a more open, welcoming impression is to use colour intentionally.
Black, navy, charcoal, and other deep neutrals can look elegant, polished, and powerful. They're wardrobe favourites for good reason. But when an outfit is dark from head to toe, it can sometimes feel more formal, reserved, or harder to approach.
Now I'd love your opinion.
Look at the images below. Which outfit makes the woman seem more approachable to you-the darker look or the one with more colour?
I think it's obvious that the colourful outfit makes her look more approachable. This does not mean you have to wear bright colours all the time. And it definitely doesn't mean you need to give up black if you love it. It means being intentional.
Try one of these easy shifts:
· Wear a lighter or softer colour near your face.
· Replace one dark item with cream, blush, camel, soft blue, warm green, or a colour that makes you come alive.
· Add one welcoming accent: a colourful blazer, scarf, bag, shoe, or statement earring.
The point is to ask yourself one powerful question before you head out:
What energy do I want people to feel when they meet me?

Local Boutique Feature
I love supporting local boutiques, and my favorite part of visiting the Calgary Farmer's Market is stopping by Stillwater Designs. I've been shopping with Stillwater for years, and it has become a true highlight of every market visit.
Stillwater always has something unique waiting to be discovered-interesting clothing, beautiful accessories, and pieces that feel a little different from the usual.
And don't miss getting on their weekly newsletter list! Samantha Paulson, the owner, does an amazing job sharing the gorgeous display walls from both their north and south locations (see below), followed by close-ups of each item. It's a great way to keep up with sales and finding your next gem from new arrivals.

I'm so excited to introduce my new puppy: Shilo! 🐾
He's a 13-week-old Havanese and has already filled our home with so much love, cuddles, and a little adorable chaos. We are completely smitten with this sweet little boy.
Shilo is doing great with potty training, mostly 😉, sleeps in his kennel all night, and can already sit/down/rollover/shake a paw on command. He's such a smart and calm little guy-and, of course, very cute too.
Say hello to Shilo! 💗
