Hi ,
When we take care of ourselves from the inside out, when we fill our own cup, we are simply better for those around us. And lately, I haven't been that for my own posse - my kids.
They see me very tired. I have felt a bit of imposter syndrome this week, and been more quiet than usual as my sleep is not fantastic! I am eating well, exercising, meditating and writing my gratitude journal. But, I am tired. I am burning the candle at all wicks, and the kids are getting the worst of me. Lately, when I am tired, I do crave sugar but I am also cranky. The pie-pieces of the Healthy Six program are such that when something is missing, we don't feel whole.
But, this is why it is a journey for all of us, and why - though I love the reboot periods, I need to remind myself of healthy choices every single day, that there is never a "done" moment, and that we are all doing the best we can each and every day. I am very excited for my holiday with my kids to recover a little!
This week my tips are:
1. Meal prep tomorrow - even if that means making a soup, and having a protein or two ready. You don't have to go nuts. But have some healthy food at your fingertips. 2. Choose how and when you are going to exercise. 3. GO TO BED EARLIER (Hint Erin!). 4. Explore a new guided meditation. 5. Send someone you love a nice note in text or email - tell them you care. 6. Journal in the morning for 2 minutes (in addition to gratitude. We are moving to INTENTION setting AM and gratitude PM - new to the Healthy Six lifestyle program!
We will have Cynthia Funk present to us about meditation on March 2.
Although winter is not the most inspiring time of the year, you all have inspired me and I hope you are leaning into spring with a new spring in your step.
