Change of Heart...

Hi
If you're like me, you are looking forward to the 4-day break that comes with Easter. Some of you may have longer if the break coincides with school holidays. If you are obliged to work over this period, you have my sympathies.
Every family will have their own traditions around Easter, and in ours, we gather for brunch on Good Friday morning. We are served smoked cod, that has been lightly poached in diluted milk, with a knob of butter on top and parsley as a garnish. Then there are the hot cross buns.
Years ago, I asked my mother why we had this for breakfast, and she said because that is what her mother did, and that's what her mother did before that,.
Thirty-one years ago, I discovered on the Wednesday before Easter that I was pregnant. The next twenty-four hours passed in a daze. On the Thursday evening, I realised that I had neither smoked cod, or hot cross buns in preparation for Easter. Until then, I had not thought it important just for me. I raced down to the nearest shopping centre and managed to buy the fish just before the fish shop closed.
The tradition lives on. What are the traditions that your family follows at Easter? I'd love to hear.
I shall be taking a break from writing and catching up on some reading. I hope you all have some down-time as well.
regards
Emily

What am I working on now?
Those who know me well know that I always have lots of projects on the go. Some will be aware that I was a marriage celebrant for a couple of decades, and in that capacity I also conducted naming ceremonies for young children (and occasionally older children as well). I wrote a book about naming ceremonies for the benefit of my clients, and then other celebrants asked to buy it as well.
I have been updating the contents and will shortly release the book in eBook form, to be followed by the print copy.
Watch this space for further details. Later, I will republish From This Day Forward, the book I wrote in designing wedding ceremonies.

Reviews!
If you read any of my books, or those written by others that are presented in my newsletters, I and my fellow authors would be grateful if you left a review. Reviews help future readers, and also tell the book retailer algorithms that they should keep presenting the book as an option for anyone browsing..
