Between the Pages

Hi

It's been a lovely summer day here in Australia. My son was home today, as it is a national holiday, so we started the day with buttermilk pancakes. Neither of us is heavily into carbs, but sometimes they fill the spot.

I filled in the rest of the day in writing a short story. I'll be submitting it to a competition, and had a reasonable idea of what I would write, although I never fully know until the words are on paper. I'll review it in the morning, checking for those typos that creep in and then submit it.

I needed a break late afternoon and wandered down the street towards the beach. Although many people will have returned to work after Christmas, this area still has a strong holiday vibe. The queues outside the fish and chip shops were long, and the ice cream shop was doing a roaring trade. Generally, it was a feeling that life is good.
