Read any good books lately? I don't just write, I keep up with a steady reading campaign as well, and across all genres. I recent book which I was reluctant to pick up at first, because it is a hefty tome, is The Good Wife of Bath by Karen Brooks.

As the name suggests, it follows the story of Chaucer's 'The Wife of Bath's Tale', told from her perspective. That period (starting 1364) is incredibly well-researched, and I found the story engaging from the first page. Be prepared for humour, intrigue, anger, and drama, leaving you with a new appreciation of the role of women in those times as we follow the life of the protagonist from her introduction as a young girl (and her first marriage at twelve), to a mature women several husbands later.
