Hi
Thank you to everyone who submitted the reader survey as requested in the last newsletter. This is a summary of the results.
People read in equal numbers across the genres, such as Romance, Romantic Suspense, Paranormal/Fantasy, Australian Fiction, and Mystery. Least popular were sci-fi and steampunk, and Historical Novels.
66% like reading books with an Australian influence.
Only 33% listen to audio books.
50% read ebooks all the time, and only 16% sticking to print books. 33% read both.
I asked about the level of spice you were happy to read. The majority said that a little is acceptable. It's a normal part of life. 33% said that the spicier the better. Others said that lengthy descriptions were boring, and they skipped over them. Most respondents liked the idea of a rating indicating the spice level of a book.
83% purchased their books from Amazon, and others purchased from Kobo or book events, even second-hand. Apple Books wasn't nominated, though I know from my sales records that people do purchase through Apple.
Equal numbers of readers purchased books outright, or through Kindle Unlimited or Kobo Plus. Some said that they used a subscription service, but sometimes wanted to keep a copy of the book.
16% of readers were not comfortable purchasing from an author website. I didn't ask the reason for this reticence.
The majority of readers prefer to receive newsletters monthly, or only when there is a new release, or special news.
The majority of readers live in the US. Others who responded lived in Australia (no surprise there), the UK, or Brazil.
Those who responded were in the running to receive an eBook copy of Skywalkers. Peggy, in the UK was the lucky recipient. Peggy, I'd love to know what you think of the book when you have finished reading.
Reminder
In case you didn't catch up with the news in the last newsletter, there have been some changes. The sender will be listed as Winsome Books, which is my publishing arm. I have books available written by Emily Hussey, Dorothy Shorne, and Rowena Wylde. All except Plan B: Secret Donor Baby are published by Winsome Books, and it has become easier to publish the newsletter under that banner.

Library Talk
With a group of fellow authors, I took part in a panel discussion at a local library. It was a great day for Q&A, and exploring different romance sub-genres, such as Historical, Contemporary, Rural, and Paranormal. I enjoyed meeting readers, and sold a few books as well.

Skywalkers
Only fools would be out on a rooftop on a wild, stormy night… and those with nefarious intentions. All Riley wants is to stay out of the weather, and stay out of trouble, but trouble comes looking for him. When a possible murder disrupts the predictable pattern of his life, Riley finds himself at the centre of unwanted attention.

The Love Hexperts
Together with a group of talented authors, we are releasing a new anthology set in the town of Leavenworth. (The previous anthology based there was My True Love Sent to Me.) This anthology, based around Halloween, brings you a mixture of romance and magic, with a little spice for good measure.
The book will be released on 16 August, but you can pre-order now for $0.99US, or $1.50AU.

Plan B: Secret Donor Baby
I enjoy writing (and re-reading) each of my books, but this is one of my favourites. It was published by Evernight, and is available on Amazon or Kobo as well as the Evernight website.
