Tis the season for chocolate

Between the Pages
Hi
This image popped up in the memories section of my FB page this morning. A few years ago, I made some salted caramel pecan chocolates, plus some truffles. I think they were coffee flavoured. Both were yum. There is a bit of work involved in making them, particularly the salted caramel versions, but they were so yum and are always popular. They lasted long enough that I could give some away as Christmas offerings.
Now that my son is back living with me, that sort of baking tends to disappear mysteriously, sometimes after I have gone to bed.
It's approaching the time of year when we are drawn into the kitchen with array of delicious recipes in mind. What are you cooking?
regards
Emily

Escape to Sandy Bay
I had a satisfying number of pre-orders for this book, and was thrilled at receiving some five star reviews in the first week. If you have purchased and read the book, your review will be so helpful for future readers. If you haven't got your copy yet, what are you waiting for? It's a great Christmas read.
I'm making progress on book 2 in this series, Return to Sandy Bay, spurred on because I already have pre-orders for that too. That book will be released early in the new year.
As a successful lawyer, Alyssa’s life is on an upward trajectory. A shock betrayal sees her carefully curated future collapse around her and sends her running to her childhood haven of Sandy Bay. She doesn’t expect to become embroiled in a local community crisis, nor with the man she thinks is driving it.
Single Dad Max cares for son Jeremy, while establishing his environmental consultancy. She stirs the emotions in ways he didn’t expect, but when he believes she has neglected his son, he is quick to lash out.
They each have to address conflicts associated with their pasts, and as Christmas approaches, either one or both could be celebrating alone.

My True Love Gave to Me
This anthology has proved hugely popular already. As I mentioned last newsletter, it is available from all the usual book retailers in ebook form, but I now have copies in print format as well. The cost of postage is a bitch, so I can only post to Australian readers. Those in other countries can order print copies from the retailers also.
If you are based in Oz, and would like a copy, it is $25 plus $5 postage. Postage costs double that, but I am going halves with you. It's a great Christmas gift, or of course a great read for yourself. My story is the second in the anthology, Two Turtle Doves. If you would like a copy, email me here.

Mrs Winterbottom Takes a Gap Year
by Joanna Nell
For those of you living in Sydney, there is a book reading coming up on Wednesday, 8 November at 6:15. To register, click here. The Constant Reader hasn't hosted book tours before, so if they are going to continue, a good attendance is required. The author is worried that nobody will turn up, but reading the description below, I am sure they will.
Husband and wife GPs Alan and Heather Winterbottom have worked side by side in their idyllic rural practice for over forty years but now they've decided to hang up their stethoscopes and retire. Joy! Celebration! Or not . . . Heather dreams of exploring the Greek Islands, of escaping the shackles of her routine life and embracing an exciting new adventure. Alan dreams of growing his own vegetables.
When things come to a head at a family lunch, Heather announces that she has decided to take a year off. From her old life, from her marriage - from Alan. Alone in beautiful Greece, Heather embarks on her very own odyssey - complete with unforgettable experiences, pitfalls and temptations. But could what's waiting for her back in Netherwood be Heather's biggest adventure yet?
'Takes the reader on a wholesome and hilarious journey from the organic garden beds of Dorset to the sun-kissed islands of Greece. Heartwarming, tender and oh-so-funny, this is a story that will leave you smiling.' ALI LOWE
'I loved taking a gap week from my life with Mrs Winterbottom. Nell's writing is, as always, delightfully funny and as heart-warming as a cup of tea.' MEGAN ALBANY
'Warm, insightful and funny . . . celebrates, so well, the treasures that life's later stages can hold.' DIANNE YARWOOD
If you don't live in Sydney and are still interested in the book, you can find it here and in physical bookshops as well.
