Who are You when You're In The Room?

Mar 20, 2024 12:00 pm

Dear Wonderful Woman,

How are you doing?

I am well.

Yesterday I went to a networking event called Still Unapologetically Black. And whilst that may sound like provocative an exclusive event title it for me speaks to a larger issue about inclusion and who we choose to be when we're at work, and in public.

The question I want us to muse on today is in this intersectional community is are we unapologetic about who we are? Our values, our personal and professional values and the greatness that we bring to the places where we grace our presence are we always bringing that?

Or you:

Are you unapologetic?

Are you playing small?

Are you speaking up?

Are you being visible?

Are you sharing your accomplishments and going for your biggest career dreams?

Are you showing up authentically?

It may seem a grim time right now when we reflect on what's going on out there in terms of the fight for DEI, for women's rights and for people to live in peace and freedom in the world right now.

However even in these times, NOW is always the time to decide to be your best self, because the world needs the unique impact only YOU can make. πŸ€©πŸ€©πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ€©πŸ€©πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ’ƒπŸΎ

Hit reply and let me know what does being unapologetically You mean for your career?

Over on LinkedIn you can check out the full event review and get the details for Black Inclusion Week.

Have a great day ahead.

Warm regard,
