Are you too sensitive on the field?

Hi ,
Sport is emotional.
Fans go crazy after big plays (in either direction).
Sport parents ... well, you know how emotional they (we) can be!
And as athletes, we can be highly sensitive to the criticisms we hear, or emotionally intense after we make a mistake because our performance matters so much.
For some, that sensitivity and taking things personal gets us into a funk.
We are caught up in the emotions, sometimes acting out and retaliating, sometimes getting defensive and lacking cooperation with teammates, and sometimes we just withdraw and stop being a factor on the field.
I have two articles to help get you out of that funk:
- How to Be Less Sensitive on the Playing Field
- How to Not Take Things Personally & Bounce Back in No Time
Both articles give some insight as to whay these feelings and reactions are normal, and also how you can interact with them differently so you can be your best self though these challenges.
Listen, this takes training. These tips will absolutely help so take action on them.
And if you are looking to improve more quickly (or this is a particularly difficult challenge for you), reply to this e-mail and ask about tele-health coaching options ...
... or if you prefer to be a bit more independent in your training, consider the Success Stories Community. An online training program that will help you be less sensitive, stop taking things personally, and take responsibility for your performance so you can be your best when it matters most.
Best wishes,
Dr Eddie
