Have you considered the opposite reaction?

Happy Super Bowl Sunday,
Is today a holiday for you too?
Honestly, I had high expectations of the Bills making it this season, so I am less enthusiastic than usual for the big game today ... A reminder to notice those feelings, have empathy for myself, and then respond in a way that moves me forward (which was to play a hard game of football myself this morning, and enjoy the time tonight with my kids as we watch)
Below I have one more post about anxiety at the next level ... and then I introduce you to my YouTube channel (@SportsDrEddie) and some of my favorite Super Bowl videos.
Enjoy the day,
Dr. Eddie

Let's look at this from the opposite perspective ... do you get nervous doing easy things? Are you anxious when you know you will be successful?
Probably not because the outcome is assured. The process is familiar and the skills are well rehearsed.
I would argue that if you aren't anxious, you might be too comfortable not pushing yourself to the edge of your ability. Not learning, growing or improving.
The next level demands you to be better than you were before. There is a push to train harder, give more effort, be more disciplined, be more precise in your technique and smarter in your strategy ... just to compete. Even more if you want to win at this level.
Anxiety is a natural response to this positive push. It wakes you up to the demands you are facing.
Let the anxiety be a positive push to fuel your dedication and perseverance.
