Hi,

Let's keep going with Viktor Frankl's quotes to help us through adversity ... and if you want direct help and support with this, join us inside Success Stories Membership where founding member Bob just wrote:

You see that the membership isn't just for athletes ... it is for anyone who has goals and wants to:

  • get unstuck and get moving towards them
  • move from anxious to confident
  • overcome inconsistency and finally achieve success

... Now on to the quotes ...

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."

It's easy to blame someone else: the refs in sport, our boss at work, our spouse in relationship ... "If only someone else would've done something different, then I wouldn't have to deal with this!"

And that's true. But they did do it, and that's the reality that we are dealing with.

And the only thing we have control over is our response to what happened, not the thing that happened that shouldn't have. Our response to the thing that did happen in reality.

You see, all of our power is in what we can actually do about the things that happen to us, no matter how wrong they are. And sometimes that means accepting the unfairness of the situation and doing more than we should have to. It's about prioritizing the end result and making changes to move us toward that goal and be willing to pay that excessive and often undesired or too expensive price.

This third quote from Viktor Frankl gives us the strength we need to be willing to go through adversity.

"Those who have a why to live can bear almost any how."

You have to have a reason to go through pain. A purpose, something that makes the difficult process worth it.

Otherwise, the logical thing to do is run away, quit and get relief, and there's nothing wrong with that if what you give up in the process doesn't mean much to you.

But if it means a lot to you, that result can become your why and can provide the motivation you need to persevere in its achievement.
