April 1st is just around the corner, when we will be opening our doors for the 2025 season. This year we have a few changes, some big and some small.
As we begin the 2025 season, we do so with mixed emotions as John Gibson hands over the reins of Downriver Canoe Company to our family. We deeply appreciate everything John has done over the past 50 years to make Downriver the amazing and special place it is today. Our goal is to carry on John's legacy of a family-run and family-friendly business, helping everyone experience the beautiful Shenandoah River. We look forward to getting to know both old and new guests in the coming season and in the many years to come. You can read more about the transition here.
We have a new online reservation service to help book your next trip! When you book online, you can select your next river adventure, sign waivers, and share trip information with your group. This is all designed to get you on the river faster. You can access our online system through our website here. Try out the new system and use the code RIVER10 at checkout to save 10% off your booking.
To kick off the 2025 season we are helping host the Canoe Capital Paddle Palooza, a fun day of canoe racing to celebrate our river culture. We would love to see you out there on March 29 in Front Royal. You can find more information about the event and sign up here. Use code DRCC when you sign up to get 20% off.
During the process of transferring our phone accounts, the phone company managed to lose our number and it is currently unavailable :( We have a temporary number set up you can call with any questions at 703-828-5990 while we try to get the issue resolved. While we do like to hear your voice and have a quick chat, don't forget you also can now book you next trip through our online booking system at https://www.downriver.com/reserve-now/ or email us at [email protected] with any questions.
We hope to see you back in the Shenandoah Valley this summer for some fun on the river. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to catch up with what's going on at the river.
Best,
The Downriver Crew
