One of my kids left this Pokémon toy on a shelf arranged in a dramatic stance. Is it a dab? Is it a dance? Is it the reaction of glimpsing into the future, knowing what other horrors 2020 still has in store for us? Only the child who posed Mewtwo knows for sure.

Okay, onto urban fantasy! I promised a complete five-book series by the end of the year, and we've only got 3 months left to go, so I'm prepping for the October 14th release of Book 4 of the Magic of Nasci: Shattering Earth.
Without giving away spoilers, this book dives heavily into earth augur Tabitha's past and how that directly impacts Ina's and Darby's tumultuous relationship. Also, if you like the mythical creatures, this book features more unique vaetturs than any previous book. I spent a ton of time down the Internet rabbit hole of mythology to find some quirky monsters for our heroes to deal with. I generally love learning about new cryptids, but this go-around I accidentally picked up some malware, so I had to reformat my computer along the way. A zero-star experience, I do not recommend.
(Don't worry, I always back up my files frequently so I didn't lose anything other than a few hours. I got in the habit of backing up my info after my computer ate a college research paper the night before it was due...and I vowed never again. I'm pretty thankful for that good habit!)
