Hello Fellow book reader...
Question of the day... What do you snack on when you read ebooks? What do you drink? When do you read?
I always wonder what others do. I have a very specific way I like to read... well, to be honest, I tend to get the audiobook if its availible. When I get an audiobook, I listen to it while working, while at the gym, while driving. The one thing I hardly ever do is listen to it while at home relaxing.
As far as what I eat, let me tell you a little about me.
I used to be fat...
No, seriously. At one time, about five or six years ago. I was at my heaviest of over 360 pounds. I only say 360 because that was the point when I stopped getting on the scale. That was a year or two after I moved to Charlotte NC... around 2012. I imagine I weighed a good bit over that before it was all said and done (Im 6ft tall btw).
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and on medication. I was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was on medication. I eventually buckled down and did what I needed to do... visited doctors, dietitians, worked out consistently and completely changed my eating. I was doing portion control, counting calories and carbs... I did everything. Eventually I lost the weight. I got off the medication. My blood pressure went to normal, my a1c (diabetes numbers) went back to normal. I was back to being healthy again. My lowest weight was around 200lbs. Im probably at about 220 now but a healthier 220 than I was back when 220 was my normal weight in my younger years.
That being said. my snacking has changed a lot. I try to find low calorie, low carb, low sugar snacks. A lot of pork rinds, nuts, and cheeses. the occassional protien bar (the ones with low sugar... you have to really read the nutrition info on them I find). And all I drink these days is water and coffee. I gave up soda about 10 years ago, I dont drink fruit juices as they are usually high in sugar. and alchohol is a very occassional thing for me.
But what do you snack on when you read?
The Writing Room
Speaking of reading, I have to admit something. I have a hard time reading ebooks. I love ebooks, I love the idea of having a device that I can carry around with my whole library, but I just have a hard time.
I cant read on my phone, not for more than checking email or reading quick news article. So, I bought a Kindle. I really cant read on that. the screen is just too dim (I shouldve tried the paperwhite)
So I tried a Kindle Fire 8. That would be perfect but no one told me that those Kindle Fire tablets are soooo slow. I actually returned the first one because I thought something was wrong with it. Then I figured out... its just slow. I didnt want to buy an iPad, didnt want to spend the money, so I ended up getting a cheap samsung tablet. The Samsung galaxy tab A.
Now while I don't think there is anything special about this tablet. I'm not bragging like it changed my life, but it was reasonably priced and the performance was adequate. Ive read several books on it.
What do you guys use to read? What would be a better option that is also reasonably priced?
Feel free to hit "reply" and tell me your story on snacks and reading device.

After an initial investigation, Detectives Johnson and Sally find that all nine of those women are indeed very much alive, but, each had a strange interaction with the would be serial killer.
That interaction alone was enough to put the confessor in prison for life. Detective Johnson knew there was more to the story, especially since the confessor still claim that those women are already dead.
Only Detective Johnson and Sally can find out what more there is to this case…
