Hi friend!

Here's something for you to...

1) watch.

Why you don't have enough money

image

A simple and helpful video with three key principles for keeping more of the money you make.

2) read.

The story of Sriracha

image

"Huy Fong's Sriracha hit revenue of $150m+ a year...with no sales team, no trademark and $0 in ad spend.

Its creator is Vietnamese-American David Tran, making the sauce's success a tale of immigrant hustle and a product that literally sells itself."

3) use.

A simple budget sheet

The Google Sheet I use to track my spending each month. It's ridiculously easy to use.

If you'd like to dabble with budgeting your money—i.e. having a clearer idea of where your money is going—make a copy of this sheet and use it how you like!

It's perfect for folks who want to use the 50/30/20 approach. You can change the numbers around but with my income, I try to do:

50%: Needs—bills & food.

30%: Wants—fun stuff.

20%: Savings—investments & taxes.

4) listen to.

The Mating Strategies of Earthlings

One of the most fascinating podcasts I've ever listened to.

David Buss is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.

In this episode of Waking Up, he and Sam Harris discuss:

"...the controversy that surrounds evolutionary psychology, the denial of sex differences, the biological definition of sex, why men and women have affairs, ovulatory shifts in mate preference, sex differences in jealousy and infidelity, the sources of unhappiness in marriage, mate-value discrepancies, what we can learn from dating apps, polyamory and polygamy, the plight of stepchildren, the MeToo movement, and other topics."

Extras.

Some of my blogs.

The Addict Brain

That voice in our head that convinces us to do the thing we know we'll regret.

The E-Myth

My review of one of the most helpful books I've read on running a business.

My religion

The closest thing I have to faith.

Certified Insight Coach

This week, I graduated from my 16-week coaching program. Here's what I learned and what I became.

What you need to be successful

Hard work or luck?

Quotes.

"When you counsel someone, you should appear to be reminding him of something he had forgotten, not of the light he was unable to see."

-Baltasar Gracian

“People who try too hard to be liked are annoying. People who try too hard to be attractive are repulsive. People who try too hard to be enlightened are self-centered. People who try too hard to be happy are miserable.”

-Derek Sivers

“These days, I can get ready by getting started.”

-John Strasser
