I honestly can't believe it's been FIVE years since I published my debut ...

FIVE freaking years!

Never in my wildest dreams did I even think I could write a book when I typed that first line into my phone ...

“Fuck, this humidity might kill me! Explain to me why I couldn’t send a large donation again this quarter, rather than spend five days in this shitty hell hole?”

I started writing this book in January 2020—before COVID struck and changed the landscape of our world—and published it in February 2021.

I had read plenty of romance books, but had never put pen to paper (so to speak) myself. I knew the type of story (more like book boyfriend) I wanted to write, but I didn’t know how to write it, so I just started.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d finish this story, let alone go on to write more books, creating an interconnected world readers would fall in love with.

In 2025, I decided to re-read my catalogue to create a ‘spicy’ chapters graphic I could use on social media. I honestly cringed when I read this book (I’m my own worst critic). I’ve learned and grown a lot as an author since I wrote and published this book and felt embarrassed that what I thought was pretty amazing wasn’t written very well.

I waffled back and forth over the idea of leaving it as is, but eventually decided to revise it. So, I spent January 2026 re-editing it. I haven’t changed the storyline at all, and I haven’t gone deeper with emotions, like I do in my more recent work, because I didn’t want to lose the naivety of this story. Instead, I focused on correcting and improving the sentence structure, grammar, and readability of the story.
