Do you like it when a book makes you cry?
Jul 04, 2024 11:30 am
G'day, ,
The other day, I asked my readers in my Facebook group about which of my books made them cry and the answers were surprising, so I thought I'd ask you too.
You see, I come across a lot of requests in various bookish groups for books that will make the reader cry and I'm never sure if I should recommend any of my books.
So, I'd really appreciate your help if you have a minute.
Can you please let me know if any of my books gave you the feels so much that you shed a tear or two? (You can just reply to this email.)
A recap of my books:
Loving Summer—Oliver & Kate
Second Chance Summer—Toby & Cassia (& Poppy, of course)
Stolen Kisses—Theo & Emma (& Lachlan, Austin & Kenny)
Moonlit Kisses—Max & Molly
Unexpected Kisses—AJ & Sarah
Everlasting Love—Shane & Violet (& let's not forget sweet Jasmine)
Enemy Kisses—Finn & Harry
Wicked Kisses—Lincoln & Sophie (& James)
Aaaand, since it's the beginning of a new month (where is the year going?—no seriously, where is it going?), here is your new reading tracker.
I had a pretty great reading month.
I was so excited to see K.K. Allen bring out another romantic suspense. I absolutely adored her book, Waterfall Effect and was a little disappointed when she moved away from writing these types of stories. So when I saw this book, I jumped on it and I was not disappointed.
The Corsican Crime Lord was a four book series, and I really enjoyed it. Sometimes I wondered how they would overcome all the obstacles and mistakes made (by him), but it kept me turning the pages. The premise was built on a broken marriage contract, but he wanted her and did everything (and I mean everything) to make it happen.
After reading Into the Tide at the end of last month, I'm onto the third book in the Cottonwood Cove series by Laura Pavlov and I'm eating these books up!
We are exactly TEN days out from our month-long trip to Canada.
Aaaahhhh! We're so excited.
I'm actually going to attempt to take the month away from my authoring responsibilities and enjoy the time with my family to make incredible memories. This holiday is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I don't want to miss a single moment.
This means there won't be another newsletter from me until August 19. But I promise to share all the news from our adventure.
I'll probably pop into my reader groups and on my Facebook page from time to time, so if you'd like to keep up to date, you can join/follow me there.
See you on the flip side!
An update on Ben and Hope's story ...
Unfortunately, I won't meet my self-imposed deadline of completing the first draft of Ben and Hope's story before leaving for Canada.
I don't want to (can't) rush it. It's too emotional and dear to my heart to force the story to completion.
I hope you understand that I always want to write the very best book I can, so I've made peace with it. I promise your patience will be well rewarded.

At the end of June, I received the rights back for Wicked Kisses. I was going to wait until I returned from Canada to publish it as a novella, but I figured, why wait!
You're the FIRST to know that I spent yesterday morning uploading it to Amazon into KU and in paperback format (both people and discreet cover versions). I woke up this morning to an email saying it was LIVE and AVAILABLE!
As it was already a complete story, it is exactly as it appeared in The Trouble with Bad Boys charity anthology. So if you already purchased/read it there, you don't need to do so again (unless you'd like to support me, of course—which I'd really appreciate).
If you missed it in The Trouble with Bad Boys charity anthology OR you'd like to support me by reading it in KU or purchasing your copy, you can grab it here:
And as always, your reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, and BookBub are always appreciated if you have a spare moment.
