A little update from down under!

G'day, ,
How's life in your part of the world as the seasons change?
Our youngest son returned to football (soccer) with his childhood friend and it's been lovely watching his love for the game come back to life. We've attended the first matches of the season and it's like going back in time to when our boys were little. However, now that he's an adult, he can get himself to and from the games and I've already warned him I'll probably be a 'fair weather spectator'. 🤣 I don't fancy sitting in the cold and rain to watch now that I don't have to be there. 🥶 Mind you, his last game was at night, and it was cold ... brrrrr!
I don't normally watch a tonne of TV because I'd prefer to read, but we've been binge-watching Dexter. I know, I know, we're really late to the party. I would say we're addicted! We've really enjoyed it and can't wait to sit and watch a few more episodes.
Dexter is such a complex character and I'm left wondering whether he counts as a 'cinnamon roll' Hero.
What do you think? Do you think he could be considered a cinnamon roll?
Other than preparing for the Wild Out West event in Perth this weekend, I've been working on Roman and Alice's novella.
I figured it would be a simple matter of adding 20,000 words, showing you how they met on vacation and their immediate chemistry, but it's turned into so much more.
As usual, my overthinking mind has to delve deeper and give you something more. Plus, it's been a fabulous opportunity to revise the standard of my writing from when the story was first published in 2021 in the Suddenly Forever charity anthology.
Of course, Roman is my favourite type of hero—a cinnamon roll. And you can probably guess from this teaser that while they're both attracted to one another, he falls fast and hard for Alice. Eeeek! I can't wait for you to meet them (again).
Oh, and just in case you were wondering how I went with the press to make the swag bags for my preorders for Wild out West, here's how they turned out. I'm thrilled with them.
Each month throughout 2025, I'll be sharing a free
Cinnamon Roll Book Boyfriend for you to add to your collection!
This month's boyfriend is ...
This month, I was patiently waiting for the release of Courage, Dear Heart by Erica Alexander. The blurb intrigued me and I was interested to see how another author dealt with a single mom who'd unexpectedly lost her husband when I was fresh off releasing Everlasting Promises. If you enjoyed Hope and Ben's story, then I think you'll enjoy Courage, Dear Heart. I highly recommend it.
I had a few books I didn't finish for one reason or another, so my reading log is looking a little slim this month. I'm almost finished with Susan Stoker's Deltas—a series I've really enjoyed.
I found The Shut up Ring on social media somewhere and the premise intrigued. I'm so glad I picked this one up as I really enjoyed it. Brandon was a delightful cinnamon roll with a crusty exterior but he was oh so gooey on the inside.
