First, welcome to new subscribers! I’m thrilled to have you here.

And happy Lunar New Year to those who celebrate. Chinese New Year began on January 29th and brought in the year of the snake. The snake means different things to various cultures and religions, but in the context of Chinese astrology, the snake represents intelligence, mystery, and renewal. A time for personal growth and transformation. I can see this happening in myself and in the world at large. This year, I’ll be making some changes by eliminating old activities and perhaps starting new ones. We’ll see. My life is a work in progress, but isn’t everyone’s?

This month, I have another great BF newsletter signup promo offering free ebooks. The Crime Time event focuses on mysteries, suspense, and thrillers. Over 60 authors are participating, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. You can find the link HERE.

I’m also trying something different. You’ve likely downloaded my first Casey Holland mystery, The Opposite of Dark, for free. If you liked the book, I’ve put all the full-length novels in the series on sale for $2.99 until Feb. 21st. The link to the entire series on Amazon, where you can see all the books on one page is HERE.

Once the sale is over it’s time to focus on writing and editing. I’ve almost finished draft 2 of my second urban fantasy and have been working out the plot holes and transition issues. When your story is over 90,000 words, has three different points of view and is set both in British Columbia and Europe, it becomes quite a challenge.

I’m also eager to get back to the paranormal mystery I put away last October. I’m planning to make great progress in March, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans. ‘You plan, God laughs’. I can almost hear the snickering now.

Until next time,
