You also have a chance to pick up more free crime fiction samples at the Mystery and Suspense Giveaway which you can find HERE.

One of my busiest and most rewarding times of the year is taking part in the holiday craft fairs through November and December. It’s a terrific way to meet new readers and discuss crime fiction. I’ve had more than one teenager approach my table and ask for advice about becoming a writer. I’ve also had beginning writers ask for publishing tips and I’m happy to help.

These days, we vendors are under contractual obligations to promote the fairs as best we can through blogs, newsletters, and social media. To that end, I know a few of you live in the Lower Mainland, so here’s an upcoming event that will take place in Vancouver. The Portobello Holiday Market is the only one where I’ll be selling books in that city. The remaining fairs will be in surrounding municipalities. Here’s what Portobello’s offering this year:

- A contest for a $50 shopping spree for the first 100 people who purchase advance Holiday Market tickets.

-FREE interactive Magik Moments Magik Mirror Photo Booth on Sat, Nov 30 from noon-3pm.

-Live Holiday music by Cooper Studios.

-FREE PetParker pet safety stations available on Sat, Nov 30 & Sun, Dec 1 from 10am-5pm.

-In-person meet and greet with Dress for Success Vancouver Ambassadors on Sun, Dec 1 from 10am-5pm sponsored by Portobello West.

If you live in Vancouver, please come on down! One of these I'll write about the ins and outs of being a craft fair bookseller. It's an interesting experience.

That’s it for now!
