Hi everyone, and welcome to new subscribers. It’s been a month since my last post, and I’m thrilled to say that I’ve been out socializing, finally. My wedding anniversary dinner was our first restaurant meal since before cancer treatments began last September. I also attended two writing events and a Mother’s Day celebration. I did pick up a minor cold, so probably overdid it, but after my oncologist told me I was cancer-free and my bloodwork was normal, I just wanted to get out in the world again.

If there’s an upside to staying in during chemo and subsequent surgery, it’s that I got to read and write a fair bit. Lately, the writing part was more reading, editing, and note-taking. For those who don’t know, I’ve been working on an urban fantasy trilogy for several years, and finished the third installment in early April. I’ve spent the past six weeks reading all three books for continuity and plot development before the next round of edits, but I’m getting there

This month, I’m offering a $.99 sale for my third Casey Holland mystery, Beneath the Bleak New Moon. This book was inspired by true-life events several years ago in Vancouver, where street racers wound up killing a pedestrian. Since that time, others have died from illegal street racing here and in other cities, and I wanted to explore the issue in this novel.
