Welcome to March! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for spring. More sunlight with daylight savings, warmer temperatures, vegetables growing in our garden, and time outdoors with my nineteen-month-old granddaughter are all welcome events.

I have another great deal for you. Casey Holland mystery #5, Knock Knock is on sale for $.99 until March 31. This month’s BookFunnel promotion features nearly 100 authors offering mystery, suspense, or thriller novels for sale. Check it out HERE. The organizer of this promotion is also offering other perks, including a chance to win a $250 Amazon gift card.

Knock Knock was inspired by a series of local news stories a few years back about home invasions targeting senior citizens. The topic troubled me a lot, and further research revealed just how common this was in cities everywhere. Sadly, it’s still happening in our province, although certainly not to the extent it does in Knock Knock. Here’s the book blurb:

When a home invasion kills senior Elsie Englehart, security officer Casey Holland is devastated. Part of her latest assignment is to watch over elderly bus riders in an area frequently targeted by a group of thugs. Determined to keep others safe, Casey escorts an elderly man to his home, only to come under attack by an armed intruder.

Hospitalized and angry, Casey struggles to regain control of her life, despite interference from family and colleagues, and the postponement of her wedding. Yet another home invasion compels Casey to take action, but at what cost to her health and her relationships?

Regarding the upcoming Casey Holland novella, the invaluable comments I received from beta readers for this 7th installment have resulted in more changes, and the new title is A Gold Satin Murder. Stay tuned for more news!

The process is never quick for me, but I always learn something from it. That’s one of the great things about writing, editing, and publishing. You never stop learning.

Until next time, happy reading,

Debra
