Hello!

I want to thank everyone who participated in the BookFunnel promotion events these past two months, and a big welcome to new subscribers! I’ll be taking part in future events and offering discounts on other books. This month, though, I’m concentrating on edits for my 7th Casey Holland mystery, tentatively titled, Man in a Gold Satin Thong.

This will be my first Casey novella and, as the title suggests, the story is lighter in tone than the previous books. I’ll be looking for beta readers early in the fall, which will be exciting and a little nerve-racking.

Meanwhile, I have a cool online event coming up in two days! On August 3rd at 4:00 pm. PDT. I and two other British Columbia writers, Winona Kent and Judee Fong (we call ourselves the Western Wing), will be discussing amateur sleuths in our fiction with moderator, Erik D’Souza. Erik is also a BC mystery author whose protagonist is an amateur sleuth.

This Crime Writers of Canada event launches of a series of discussions of with mystery writers across Canada who’ll be discussing a variety of topics. I believe the recording will be available for a while after that date, but it’d be best to check with Crime Writers of Canada or their Facebook page, which the event will be streamed live. You can join the event (and recording) HERE.
