š” This week from the Country
My mornings start with birds arguing outside my window and of course, my morning coffee. Days are starting to warm up here in the upstate of South Carolina.
This week has felt pleasantly ordinary, a little writing, a little catching up on things around the house (does the laundry pile ever go down?) and a few moments where I actually remembered to slow down instead of racing through the day.
š° Cozy Corner: Little Comforts & Clever Finds
This weekās cozy find:
Frozen cookie dough balls.
Not glamorous. Not groundbreaking. But absolutely one of my favorite āfuture me will be gratefulā tricks.
Whenever I make cookies, I freeze a few extra dough balls in a bag so I can bake just two or three whenever the mood hits. Thereās something so comforting about warm cookies without having to make an entire batch.
Especially on rainy afternoons⦠or while reading a cozy mystery.
If you have a favorite little kitchen shortcut, Iād love to hear it!
āļø From the Writerās Desk
This week in my writing worldā¦
Now that Death on a Dinner Cruise has officially launched, my brain is doing that funny thing where it wants both a break⦠and to immediately dive into the next story.
And yes, A Corpse at the Clambake is definitely starting to take shape. Enough so that I'll be contacting my cover designer soon.
Iāve been scribbling down scene ideas, possible troublemakers, and a few details that are making me very excited about this one already. Iām starting to get that feeling where the characters begin nudging their way into conversations in my head. I'm also gone down way to many Google black holes about ways to die at a clambake. (Scary?)
Which usually means Iām in trouble š
And if youāve already read Death on a Dinner Cruise, Iād truly love to hear what you think. Leaving a review is one of the kindest ways to support an author, and I appreciate every single one more than you know š

š What Iām Loving Lately
This week: What Iām listening to
Lately Iāve been gravitating toward softer music while I writeānothing too distracting, just something nice in the background while I work through scenes and ideas. Yacht Rock anyone...does that age me? LOL
If you have a favorite artist, playlist, or even audiobook recommendation, send it my way!
š A Little Extra for You
