🌊 This Week From the North Carolina Coast...

Where the breeze is just right, the coffee tastes better with an ocean view… and I keep finding reasons to step outside ā€œfor just a minute.ā€

There’s something about being here that makes everything feel a little lighter—even the to-do list doesn’t seem quite as demanding (though it’s definitely still there šŸ˜„). Isn't there just something about a sea breeze?

I’ve been soaking it in as much as I can—morning coffee, a short walk, the sound of the waves doing their thing in the background. It’s the kind of place that makes ideas wander in when you’re not even trying. I know how lucky I am to have this little retreat 4 hours from our country home.

And lately… a few story ideas for my coastal cozy mystery have been doing exactly that! Titles, titles, and more titles for this series keep popping into my head :)

šŸ° Cozy Corner: Little Comforts & Clever Finds

This week’s cozy find:

A no-fuss ā€œcoastal snack plateā€ that’s been my go-to lately—nothing fancy, just a mix of whatever’s on hand:

  • crackers or sliced baguette
  • a little cheese
  • something fresh (grapes, berries, or even sliced cucumber)
  • and whatever small treat feels right

It’s one of those easy, put-it-together-in-minutes things that somehow feels like a little luxury.

Perfect for an afternoon break… or a quiet evening with a glass of wine (this week I've been loving Skinny Girl Peach Margarita - just chill and enjoy.)

āœļø From the Writer’s Desk

This week in my writing world…

Now that Death on a Dinner Cruise is out in the world (which still feels a little surreal!), my brain has officially started wandering toward the next story.

And let’s just say… the coast might be inspiring more than just slow mornings and snack plates.

I’ve been jotting down notes for the next book—A Corpse at the Clambake—and it’s already shaping up to have its own kind of charm (with, of course, a little trouble mixed in).

It’s still early, but I have a feeling this one is going to be a lot of fun to write.

and...this guy is always where he shouldn't be, doesn't he look smug?

Question for you...

Are you more of a ā€œsit and relax by the waterā€ person… or do you like to explore and stay busy when you’re near the coast?

To be honest, I am NOT the sit on the beach and soak up the sun all day kinda girl, I DO enjoy an early morning or early evening walk along the shore when the crowds have gone and the sun is more skin-friendly.

Hit reply and tell me—I love hearing from you (and I promise I won’t gossip… much šŸ˜‰)
