Progressive Optimization

As I write this, I'm currently sat at my desk with a pile of notes littering my desk and desktop. I've been re-recording all my training on Progressive Optimization for my Optimizers Club members for what feels like months now.

It's the most difficult subject that I've ever taught and that's why it feels like I'm surrounded by the debris left behind by a storm. Or that scene in Harry Potter where somebody should've got a nasty papercut!

The existing course is good, and like all my other training, it focuses on function over form. It's practical and actionable.

The issue is that I know it barely scratched the surface.

It's hardly the flagship course of the membership. That's the real problem.

It should be.

Anyway, before you roll your eyes about a pitch. It's not that. It's not a pity party about teaching being difficult either because I actually love doing it. I'm possibly slightly sad about my desk... I digress.

Progressive Optimization is the framework I've been using and adapting for years now. It started around 2016 when I was running a small agency. That was a long time ago, but I've honestly never found ways to stop improving it.

Until around this time last year when things started to fall into place. It was like a lightbulb moment without the "Eureka!"

Then a couple of months ago, I realized something...

"I've got to talk about this as much as possible."

Not only does that make it easier for me to articulate ideas when I'm recording training videos, but it means that I can at least bring the core concepts to everyone. Which is something that's been holding me back from sharing more publicly for a while.

I've not wanted to talk about traditional SEO when I've almost completely moved away from that in favor of a framework that has a lot more in common with economic and manufacturing principles.

Well, I'm changing all that because I've started a series on my blog that will help you get to grips with what this and how to get started at a basic level.

It obviously won't be as detailed as what my students will be getting. However, I'm confident that this series might change the way you look at SEO. Mostly everyone on this list is already an outside-the-box thinker, anyway. So I hope it will provide you with a few lightbulb moments of your own over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for reading, now, please send your best wishes to my poor old desk!
