While my husband is in sunny Arizona this week, I'm stuck at home fighting an ear infection and a very red eye, which I'm told, is part of the infection too. I went to the library this morning to help wrap books for a "Blind Date with a Book" activity we're hosting next month (I'm on the library board). Our new library has these beautiful tall windows which let in so much light, but I had to keep my head down as I worked since the bright room didn't do my poor eye any favors. I'm hoping the antibiotics kick in soon; it's no fun trying to work with one eye partially closed!
Despite being sick, I managed to get through final edits for Love, Lies and Valentines and send it off for early reviews. Its release date is listed as February 21st, but it will surely be ready before that. I'm hoping for Valentine's Day. It's already available on Amazon for pre-order.

In case you missed my announcement last week, the Hearts in Hendricks series is now at all retailers! This is my first romance series which introduced readers to Hendricks, Minnesota and all of its charming and quirky folks.
LOVE LIKE FIRE (Book #2) finds Darci Conti's friend, Bethany at the heart of this novel. She's a yoga teacher with a flare for matchmaking like her Gran but prefers the single life for herself. Then old schoolmate Nate Ransom arrives in town to settle his family's estate, throwing Bethany in a whirl. Here's a little excerpt:
Nate leaned back against the counter, resting his elbows on the surface behind him. “Go out with me again.”
“What will we do?” Bethany asked as if her answer depended on what he could offer.
He squinted at her, thinking. “So many options to choose from in Hendricks. Let’s see.” He paused, enjoying her amused expression. “Movie at the Regency. Coffee at Two Tree. We could picnic on the beach.”
“It’s winter.”
“You’ve never had a winter picnic?”
“I’m a summer picnic kind of girl.”
“How have you lived this long without enjoying the experience?”
“That’s an experience that I’ll do without, thanks.”
“That just gave me the best idea.”
“I repeat: I only eat meals outside when it’s above sixty degrees. I don’t like being cold,” she said with a warning look.
“So that’s a ‘yes’?”
Bethany shrugged, giving in, though Nate knew she wasn’t taking him seriously. “Sure. What should I wear?”
Nate rubbed his hands together. “Something warm.”
Her bugged-eyed look as he put on his coat left no doubt that his idea would be a winner. She followed him to the door.
“Did you not understand me?” she said after him. “No outdoor activities. I’m not a fan!”
He opened the door. “I’m determined to make you the biggest fan. I’ll call you.”
“I won’t be going!” Her voice trailed onto the sidewalk before the door shut behind him, and the lightness of her voice assured him that she wasn’t dead set against the idea.
