I'm wrapping up May by featuring another clean romance author with you. So, today I'm very happy to highlight author Danae Little, cowboy and Christmas romance writer extraordinaire.

I asked Danae about her writing life and what she likes to read. Here's what she had to say:
1) Tell us about your favorite writing space.
I write anywhere and everywhere. I love writing outside. Lately I’ve had to sit out on some adventures like dirt bike riding because of a ski oops that gave me whiplash. So, I’ll bring my laptop out to where we set up and write while my boys ride the trails. When I’m home, and if the weather isn’t nice enough to sit on our deck, I’m on my favorite recliner when I’m typing out my next scenes.
2) What was your inspiration behind the series you're currently promoting?
I’m promoting two freebies to you. One is Her Forever Cowboy which is the prequel to my Unforgettable Cowboys series. This series was inspired by a book I wrote almost two decades ago. I didn’t do anything with it until I found my way into clean romance. Then I gave it a good deep edit and rewrite and created an entire series based off the amnesia premise. An online amnesia support group called Unforgettable Cowboys is what ties each book together.
The other freebie is Hoping on Forever which is the prequel to my Hope Lake series. Hope Lake is inspired by a tiny lakeside town I camped at several years ago. I love the small town atmosphere and the beautiful setting, so I created an entire series based on that then added some cowboys and a little suspense. It’s one of my favorite series to write because all of the characters become the best of friends and you get to see how they have grown while they support the next characters.
3) When did you discover you wanted to be a writer?
I had a lot of siblings, and as the oldest girl I was in charge of the littles most of the time. I loved creating stories for my sisters and brothers to keep them entertained and sometimes we would even act them out.
Eventually, I took the stories to paper. When I was about ten I wanted to become the youngest novelist. That didn’t happen, but my 8th grade teacher had my class perform my screenplay!
I got my AA in English/creative writing and later went back for my BA in child development and became a teacher. It wasn’t until I was a mom that I finally made my dream of being a published author come true…and was able to stay home with my son. I hit the ground running and haven’t slowed down since. Funny thing is, my son at four asked for his stories to look like real books like mine, so I published his first book, Adventures of Stick Boy, which became a best seller in several categories, including kids camping books, upon release! So, in a way, he fulfilled my dream too!
4) What's the next book on your To Be Read pile?
I read (and write) across many genres and my next To Be Read is actually a Christian End Times novel by Jamie Lee Grey. That probably isn’t what most of you read, so I will share that I just finished the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. The writing style was different for me and it took me four chapters to decide I was fully invested in the story, but I am glad I did. That series changed so many of my perceptions of what being a Christian means! If you like Christian fiction and historical fiction, I would add it to your TBR too.
